The initial thought when starting a blog was to start in January. There is a website called Blurb that changes a blog into a book. How cool to have a journal/blog for the family for each year. That being said, I need to backtrack on the last couple of months because what eventful months they have been! As most moms know, life changes drastically (for the good, of course) in the first few months after having a baby. I have memories that I hope to always remember.
So here it goes….
JANUARY
This was Beckam’s first month of life. Three words to describe January would be love, bliss, and sleepless. He was such a good baby right from the start. HOWEVER, he was born with his nights and days mixed up (we will forgive him because he corrected this behavior within two weeksJ). I would try so hard not to talk to him at three in the morning, but he was so sweet just looking at me with his big, blue eyes. Beckam will grin as he is falling asleep. This is something he did from day one and still does. I love it.

We were able to take a much needed trip to Idaho towards the end of the month. The two highlights of this trip were Beckam’s baby blessing and Beckam’s baby shower.

Beckam after his blessing (January 23, 2011) |
This is Beckam with some of his many Uncles. This kid definitely doesn't have a shortage of family.
Beckam's Grandma Debi threw a baby shower for him on the 22nd. What a fun day!
My mom is so creative, and it definitely showed. She had the whole place decorated for the party, which even included a candy bar! We played games, ate lunch, and chatted the afternoon away. Of course Beckam slept through the whole thing.J
FEBRUARY
This month consisted of yet another trip. We are definitely making Beckam a well traveled baby! Sal needed to take a trip to Southern California to take a licensing test. Well it just so happened it was only three hours from where my sister, Josie, and her family live. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see them, so while Sal was hard at work studying, Beckam and I were hanging out with family.
Sal and I did get to spend some time together while we were there. We found a pretty cool beach in Ventura and stopped to walk around.
Best part of the trip was that Sal passed both of licensing test. Im so proud of how hard he works.
Other highlights for the month were Beckam's first smiles.
And the discovery of man's best friend. The 46 inch flat screen television. He is in LOVE with this thing. Here he is staring intently at the bright colors.
MARCH
This month was a month of staying home. We did, however, have visitors. First, some of Sal's brothers came up for a visit. It was so good to see them and have company. Our house is usually pretty quite, but not that weekend!
This was the weather during March, so needless to say, there wasn't much time spent outdoors. But they managed.
There was a lot of playing basketball and eating pizza.
The second visit was from my mom and little sister Hannah. There has been an increase in visits from these two since the birth of Beckam...wonder why??? We love having them over!
Despite the fact that he looks a little scared in this photo, Beckam loves his Aunt Hannah. She is so good to him, always talking and singing to him. She even gave him barbie dolls to play with when no one was lookingJ
So if you made it to the end of this rather long post, there is our recap. First of the year consisted of a lot of traveling, a lot of visiting, and a lot of fun!
